BBC will only show Election debate between leading candidates on minor channel

There will be a series of televised debates among the leading candidates before the May election, but few national broadcasters will televise them.

The main debate will be broadcast on the European Commission subsidised Euronews, which lists ‘All-Russian State Television and Radio’ as a shareholder holding 19% of shares. There has been concern over broadcasters throughout Europe showing little interest in the ground-breaking debate.
