Today, 18 May, Facebook will appear for first time on the value's board in Wall Street and will be one of the most lucrative initial public offerings (IPOs) in history.

The social network raised $16 billion on Thursday, in an IPO that valued Facebook at $104 billion on 15 May. Also on Thursday, the company announced that it will start with a price of $38 per share and it will sell 421 million of them.

According to the Euro Health Consumer Index (EHCI) for 2012, the healthcare performance in Bulgaria was the worst in the European Union. On the contrary, the Dutch one was the best.

According to the Euro Health Consumer Index (EHCI) for 2012, the healthcare performance in Bulgaria was the worst in the European Union. The only country, whose healthcare system performance was below the Bulgarian one, was Serbia which is not part of the Union.

On the contrary, the healthcare performance of the Dutch system was the best among all member states. Other well-performing states included also Denmark, Luxembourg and Iceland.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a €200 million loan to Banesto for financing the investment projects of small and medium-sized businesses (with up to 3,000 employees), mainly in the industry and service sectors.

The Japanese giant, Sony, is experiencing its worst crisis, reporting a record $5.7 billion annual loss.

However, these bad newsdoes  have a positive aspect. The final number doesn't meet the company's annual net loss estimates of $6.4 billion, which it predicted last month.

Even so, after thirty years of history Sony's value is now one-tenth Samsung's value and thirty seven times less than Apple.

Yahoo has announced CEO's Scott Thompson resignation, after the scandal involving his credentials for the position.

The Board of Directors has named Fred Amoroso as Chairman of the Board and Ross Levinsohn as interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Thompson declared in his resume that he graduated with a degree in accounting and computer science in 1978 from Stonehill College. Besides, the school did not offer a computer science degree until 1983, five years after Thompson graduated.

As a pious child, I was terrified of mortal sins. Every Monday morning, a giant schoolteacher enquired whether we had gone to church the previous day. If anyone admitted a failure to attend mass, our sadistic educator would conjure up images of a soul being blackened. Hell beckoned.
