Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko have agreed to jointly battle efforts to use human rights issues for exerting political pressure, the Belarusian president's press office said.

"The parties shall provide mutual assistance on international platforms on the human rights issue, jointly counter attempts to use the issue of human rights as a mechanism of political pressure," the Belarusian and Kazakh presidents said in a statement.

BEIJING - The list of countries which decided to join, albeit as observers or just dialogue partners, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), is increasing each time. So this year Afghanistan and Turkey decided to get into the so-called "Shanghai Five", which includes Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Representatives of railway administrations of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran agreed to create a tripartite Committee. The first meeting of the railway representatives of the three countries is expected to be held in the Kazakh city of Aktau by the end of May.

The main subject of the forthcoming meeting of the railway representatives of the three countries is the discussion on construction of the railroad of international importance, which will link four countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

BEIJING - The list of countries which decided to join, albeit as observers or just dialogue partners, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), is increasing each time. So this year Afghanistan and Turkey decided to get into the so-called "Shanghai Five", which includes Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Their desire to join is now under a certain status, most likely, it will be approved next month at the upcoming summit of heads of states of this Organization in Beijing on 6-7 June.

Several economic agreements were signed during Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s

visit to Kazakhstan on 3-4 May. This was during the Hungary-Kazakhstan business forum where Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with Kazakhstan which will help his country come out of the crisis.

Attackers opened fire on Lukpan Akhmedyarov, 36, a reporter with independent newspaper Uralskaya Nedelya, outside his home in the city of Uralsk. Raul Uporov, a photographer at Uralskaya Nedelya, said on 20 April that witnesses saw five people attacking Akhmedyarov outside his home late at night.
