So this year Afghanistan and Turkey decided to get into the so-called "Shanghai Five", which includes Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The European Union is considering a special package for Pakistani market, particularly the textile sector, and for this a proposal had already been presented, said Polish Deputy Minister of Economy Andrzej Dycha.
Poland is also keen to discuss bilateral relations with Pakistan and reduce the trade imbalance that exists between the two countries.
However, the EU is likely to increase the number of quota restricted items from 20 to 23 in the EU package for Pakistan.

On 26 April Amnesty International (AI) launched a report recommending urgent and substantial reforms to the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) in Kosovo. They outlined progress made by the EULEX and called on the EU to prioritise investigations of war crimes conducted during the war in Kosovo.
Amnesty International European Institutions Office Director Nicolas Beger called on the EULEX to establish “an effective international witness-protection programme”, which should ensure sustainability of Kosovo’s prosecutorial system and judiciary.

An international war crimes tribunal at the Hague today found former Liberian president Charles Taylor guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Taylor had pleaded not guilty to the 11 charges brought against him for arming rebel armies in Sierra Leone who used drugged child soldiers and killed, maimed and raped civilians.

United States and Afghanistan reached a deal on 22 April on a long-delayed strategic partnership agreement that pledges U.S. support for Afghanistan for 10 years after the withdrawal of troops at the end of 2014.
The agreement represents the future a U.S. role in Afghanistan, including aid assistance and governance advice. It also focus on the U.S. exit strategy in Afghanistan because it provides guidelines for any American forces who remain after the withdrawal deadline.

The European Parliament voted 18 April to approve the Human Rights Report, which calls to establish a new human rights Czar for the EU and 180 human rights specialists at 180 delegations worldwide.
Parliament approved the resolution 580-26. Richard Howitt, a member of Parliament from the UK, wrote the report. He said that by passing the resolution and creating the new position of a human rights czar the EU had made a huge step in the protection of human rights.

After a series of tightly co-ordinated attacks ain Kabul, which caused the deaths of 36 insurgents together with 11 members of the Afghan security forces and four civilians, the Afghan President Hamid Karzai said on 16 April that the attack was the result of intelligence failures by his own government but “especially NATO.”
