 If the Little Mermaid can travel to Shanghai, the Chinese can travel to Denmark to visit an Andersen theme park close to his hometown of Odense. At least that’s what Huang Nubo seems to think. The Chinese investor, hotel owner and billionaire, wants to see Chinese tourists flock to Denmark.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Luksic said the government is determined to resolve ties with their Russian partner EN+ group of Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska in regard to aluminium plant KAP, Montenegro Times reported.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Luksic said the government is determined to resolve ties with their Russian partner EN+ group of Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska in regard to aluminium plant KAP, Montenegro Times reported.

It was recalled that in February, the government took over the troubled KAP aluminium plant including €132m in debts. Owner Deripaska failed to revive the smelter after taking a majority stake in 2005. Montenegro owns 58% stake in KAP along with the Russian partner.

The government of Kosovo has decided to introduce a visa regime for 86 countries, including Russia and China. The decision shall apply starting from 1 January 2013 and among the countries whose citizens will need visas to enter Kosovo are mostly the countries which have not yet recognised the country's independence, but also some which have.

Talks between Hungarian Minister of Justice and Public Administration Tibor Navracsics and Finnish politicians in Helsinki on 15 May focused on reform of the justice system and public administration.

Navracsics met with Finnish Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen and discussed current events unfolding in the European Union, especially the Greek situation and its effects on the economic political climate.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on May 17,during a legal forum ahead of  his participation to the G8 summit at Camp David, warned  Western powers ,stating that a military intervention in the affairs of sovereign states could lead to war, even nuclear war.
 
Russian Prime Minister clearly referred  to his country's position, contrary to the Western powers,on issues such as  Syria  and elsewhere in the Middle East.

Talks over the resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabagh conflict have turned into discussions on potential gas deals and future closer EU-Azerbaijani cooperation.

Just recently, Azerbaijan had started to seek closer cooperation with countries like Bulgaria and other EU member states.

There have been various bi-lateral meetings with the Bulgarian Prime Minister, President of the Parliament and even with the European Commissioner for energy, Günther Oettinger.

On 9 May, Europe Day, Cyprus celebrated it in a truly European way.  Due to begin the Presidency of the Council of the EU, Cypriot Deputy Minister for EU Affairs Andreas Mavroyiannis headed the unveiling of the country's logo for the presidency.  It was a ship "whose hull doubles as a dove, with colourful sail, heading to the heart of Europe".

Mavroyiannis said the logo “brings to mind the island character of Cyprus with its long maritime tradition and the fact that our country today has the third largest fleet in the EU”.

The European Union is considering a special package for Pakistani market, particularly the textile sector, and for this a proposal had already been presented, said Polish Deputy Minister of Economy Andrzej Dycha.

Whatever the outcome of the French and the Greek elections on 6 May, the Eurozone will never be the same as before. In both those elections there will be a  message sent also to Brussels and Berlin, and even Washington and New York as well. In some respects on election night, Athens may emit a much louder and clearer braodcast than Paris.

Data from the official statisticians of Latvia recently revealed that the Latvian economy grew by 5.5% in 2011. With a better flow of investments and an overall improvement in the business climate, Latvia’s shortfall was more than halved, shrinking to 3.5% of economic output from 8.2% in 2010, the data showed.
