Akhtar Badshah is senior director of global community affairs at Microsoft, spoke to New Europe about their global initiative to assist young people to start businesses that benefit society. Speaking at the first high-level meeting the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Brazil, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said that the government is establishing an agency, Georgia Reforms and Partnership Enterprise (GRAPE) to promote and share the country’s reforms worldwide, The Messenger reported.

Addressing the OGP summit delegates in Brasilia, Gilauri said that GRAPE is the enterprise through which Georgia would export its reforms. He also said that Georgia is offering to use GRAPE website as a platform for sharing reforms.

The Spanish Government is set to defend its draft law on transparency, access to information and good governance during the Open Government Partnership in Brasilia.

This event is an initiative to defend international transparency, lead by the US and Brazil, and with the participation of UK, Mexico, Norway, South Africa and Indonesia.

The company which is responsible for oil and gas exploration and production activities of Portugal’s Galp Energia in Brazil, Petrogal Brasil, recently sold off a 30% stake to Chinese oil group Sinopec, local reports revealed last week after completion of the transaction.

The Portuguese stock market regulator (CMVM) reportedly confirmed that the capital increase of Petrogal Brasil had been concluded and Sinopec subscribed $4.8 billion in Petrogal Brasil and other related companies.
