U.S. President Barack Obama in an interview to ABC News, stated that he now supports gay marriage,becoming the first U.S. president to endorse this kind of civil rights for gays.
“I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married,” Obama said.
According to a Gallup Poll released earlier this week, Americans are split on the issue, with 50% supporting gay marriage and 48% against it,
