Q-Cells files for bankruptcy after restructuring efforts

Germany’s leading maker of solar cells, Q-Cells, said on 2 April it was ready to file for bankruptcy as it no longer saw any secure financial basis for a continuation of its business.

The number of bankruptcies in Estonia fell last year reversing a trend seen for several years, reports citing the Krediidiinfo panel study revealed last week.

In 2011, 623 companies were declared insolvent – a figure 40% less than in 2010. In 2010, the fall had been by 2.5%. The number of bankruptcies grew in Estonia considerably for several years and then halted in 2010 and in 2011 the drift finally inverted.
