The 64.8 percent owned Brazilian subsidiary of Energias de Portugal SA (EDP), Energias do Brasil SA, recently inked a sale and purchase agreement withNet Servicos de Comunicacao SAfor the sale of 100 percent stake in the share capital of Esc 90 Telecomunicacoes Ltda for a reference amount of around 39.4 million Euro. ESC90 provides cable TV and broadband internet services in Vitoria and Vila Velha, municipalities located in Brazil’s Escelsa’s concession area.
 This operation’s closing will be subject to approval by the Brazilian telecom sector regulator, Anatel. This disposal was fixed in line with EDP’s strategy of divesting on non-core assets and focus on core business. EDP estimates that this operation would have a non-recurrent impact of approximately seven million Euro in the EDP’s consolidated net profit.
