Slovakia and Serbia Prime Ministers

Mirko Cvetkovic opened the Slovak-Serbian Economic Forum in Bratislava early last week with representatives of more than 100 Slovak and Serbian companies taking part in the event, Slovak Spectator reported on 22 September. In his speech, Fico said that no problems exist in relations between Slovakia and Serbia, and expressed full support for Serbia’s EU-integration efforts.The Serbian PM stated that his country, along with the rest of the world, has been affected by the global economic crisis. Despite this, he added, Serbia, with the assistance of international institutions, will invest considerable amounts into the renewal of the power and energy infrastructure, motorway construction and other projects. Slovak enterprises will have the opportunity to take part in those projects as well, added Cvetkovic. Fico praised key Slovak firms for their activities in Serbia.
