Deputy Prime Minister Daniel Valtchev and the ambassador of the US John Beyrle signed an agreement between the governments of Bulgaria and the USA for assistance with the reconstruction of the nuclear reactor of the Bulgarian Academy of Science. Ambassador Beyrle has emphasised the fact that this agreement provides USD 50 million, which will be spend to transport the nuclear fuel waste to Russia and also to convert the nuclear reactor from operating on highly-enriched uranium to operating on low-enriched uranium.
