Limerick food firm’s 24 million Euro Topaz deal
Limerick-based food supplier Pallas Foods has won a three-year deal worth around 24 million Euro to supply petrol and convenience to Irish owned store chain Topaz, the companies said.
The deal will see Pallas Foods supply more than 100 Topaz deli outlets with fresh produce such as breads, salads, meats, pastries, sandwich fillings and smoothies.
Announcing the deal, Topaz Retail Director Frank Gleeson said that the company was “delighted that Pallas Foods, a family owned and managed company has come on board as our fresh food supplier. This is great news for our customers who are set to benefit from a wider range of higher quality food products at more competitive prices.”
Topaz has around 300 sites nationwide and employs 2,000 people. Pallas Foods is based in Newcastlewest, Co Limerick. It is owned and managed by the Geary family. Set up in the early 1980s, the company now has a turnover of 165 million Euro a year and employs more than 500 people.
