Endesa buys Soprolif share
Endesa France has acquired 55percent of Soprolif from EDEV, which is in charge of EDF’s development activities, Endesa revealed in a statement last week. Endesa already held 45 percent of Soprolif, the French company which owns a circulating fluid bed plant with installed capacity of 250 megawatts at the Provence site. The new deal now makes Endesa France the outright owner of the facility. In addition, Endesa France and EDF have signed a five year (2008-2012) electricity supply agreement that locks in sales of Soprolif’s output over the period. The company also plans to expand its CCGT capacity by over 3,000 megawatts.
