Updates: Jeleva made no violation: Bulgarian Ministry of Justice report - EXCLUSIVE, Check-mate; Jeleva unsalvable; a commentary, Borisov opens the door for new Commission nominee

 

We have acquired Official translated Global Consult documents, which relate to political attack on Commissioner-designate Rumiana Jeleva in the European Parliamentary hearing of Tuesday 12 January 2010. Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov earlier today suggestedit would not be "tragic" if Jeleva's nomination was rejected, but despite this Jeleva's nomination seems to hang in the balance.

From the officially translated documents, it is apparent that Jeleva has no longer any participation in Globul Consult, and did not have any participation which is/was not permissable by law.

 

All the information is open to the public by entering in the Bulgarian Commercial Register, which is a service provided by the Bulgarian Registry Agency.

 

Globul Consult has a new name - Auto Spa. The register shows that this is the ex- Globul consult and also shows when the change was done, shows new owners and a new manager - Iveta Kirilova Koleva.

 

The documents (available for download below) show certain issues of critical importance:

 

1.The aforementioned company had no activity for the years 2007 and 2008.

 

2. The company share capital has a total value of 5000lv (or ~2500 Euro) which translates to 500 shares. By selling 200 shares to one new owner for 2000lv (~1000 Euro) and 300 other shares for 3000lv (~1500 Euro).

 

3. On 9 April 2009 (long before the elections)   Jeleva sold her shares for their nominal value, did not realize any profit and therefore, was not obligated to make any such declaration according to Bulgarian legislation.

 

If this is the whole story, in the interest of objectivity, it is necessary to ask certain questions in our “watchdog” role:

 

1. Who has been providing false information, and why?

 

2. Who is the target – Jeleva, Borisov, Barroso, or the EPP?

 

3. Who will reap political and economic gains from this affair?
