Czech economy drops 5 per cent this year
A recently published survey conducted by the Czech Finance Ministry estimated that the national economy would contract by more than 2.7 per cent and less than five per cent this year. As for next year, Czech economy should grow by 0.7 per cent on average, according to the findings of the study. The results were based on estimates of 15 domestic institutions. Economic growth is foreseen to accelerate only in the years 2011 - 2012 when the economy should grow by 2.5 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively, according to the estimates. Most institutions were found to believe that inflation would not pose a problem to the economy. Average inflation is expected at 1.3 percent this year and 1.6 percent in 2010. |
