Railways, OKD Doprava to set up joint venture
The Belarusian Railways and the Czech transport and logistics company OKD Doprava are considering an opportunity of setting up a joint company, BelTA learnt from the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus. The Belarusian Railways has been developing cooperation with the Czech OKD Doprava. The sides are considering an opportunity of setting up a joint venture in the area of transport and logistics, the ministry said. OKD Doprava is the second forwarder in Czechia after the Czech Roads. It transports freight and provides logistics services. The partnership between the Belarusian Railways and the company will help attract additional investments and create new jobs. According to the ministry, in 2010 the Belarusian Railways will develop cooperation with the railways of Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. Projects to construct up-to-date transport and logistics centers in Belarus are being currently considered. There will be taken measures to reach the pre-crisis level in the export and transit of the railway transportations. |
