RWE plans giant offshore wind farm
German utility RWE Innogy announced it teamed up with manufacturer REpower to employ giant five-megawatt wind turbines in the German waters of the North Sea. RWE Innogy announced the signing of a contract with REpower to develop the Nordsee Ost wind farm off the coast of the Helgoland archipelago. The farm will produce roughly 295 MW of clean energy, RWE said. “With Nordsee Ost we are realizing a German offshore project that has already received all the required permits,” said Paul Coffey, a board manager at RWE Innogy.
