Listed 12th in WB Enforcing Contracts rating
Belarus ranks 12th in Enforcing Contracts ranking of the Doing Business report prepared by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation, Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court Viktor Kamenkov said as he opened the international conference, Topical Issues of the Legal Regulation of the Foreign Economic Operations. According to Viktor Kamenkov, the topic of the conference is quite important for Belarusian and foreign economic operators regardless the financial crisis which affected the world trade. Incoterms (international sales rules widely used in international commercial transactions), the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, the International Arbitration Court of the International Chamber of Commerce are important tools providing homogeneity and predictability of the international trade. It is time we took effective strategic measures in trade and economic law. The measures for example include moderation procedure, alternative ways of dealing with disputes, etc., Viktor Kamenkov stressed. Disputes can be settled out of court through a moderator, Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court said. |
