The Union State budget bill for 2010 was adopted at the 36th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Moscow on 26 November. The budget totals RUB4.872 million. The contribution of the Russian Federation will amount to RUB3.167 million, that of Belarus RUB1.705 million. The Union State will finance 42 programs and events in 2010. The structure of expenditures will remain at the 2009 level. Some 35% of the expenditures will be allocated for fundamental research, industry, power engineering, construction, transport, communications and information technologies; 39% will go into military-technical cooperation, law-enforcement activities and security of the Union State. 19% of the expenditures will be channeled into healthcare and physical culture, ecology, accident response measures, education, culture and mass media. Before being considered at the second reading the draft budget was studied by the conciliatory commission.
