Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Sven Alkalaj recently paid an official visit to Brunei Darussalam at the invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam, Fars news agency reported. A working lunch was organized in honor of Minister Alkalaj in Bander Seri Begawan. During the meeting, both sides stated that their relations are amicable and cordial. On this occasion, Minister Alkalaj thanked H.R.H. Prince Mohamed Bolkiah for the extensive support and assistance that Brunei has extended to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Minister Alkalaj acquainted the Prince with the current political situation in B-H as well as about its foreign policy priorities in the following period. He praised Brunei for supporting B&H’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. In turn, Prince congratulated Minister Alkalaj for the prestigious role which B&H will have in the UN SC. He expects relation and cooperation between the two countries will improve at the multilateral level. Both Ministers expressed their intention to intensify and improve overall relations, particularly in terms of economic cooperation between the two countries. In that context, the officials agreed to initiate negotiations on signing the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement and the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement which will serve as a legal framework for intensifying economic relations.
