IMF team worked on the second review that will be used by the
IMF Board of Directors for deciding whether or not to give Belarus the new tranche. The mission concluded that all major economic performance targets of the Stand-By Arrangement with Belarus had been met as of July 1, Prakapovich said. Work is under way to ensure compliance with the criteria as of October 1, he added. Technical issues regarding the next loan tranche have not yet been resolved, Prakapovich noted. He also reported to the Belarusian leader on the performance of the banking sector in the first eight months.
