Ukraine has suggested that Belarus should take part in the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline project. Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Likhovyi told a press conference on 21 August, news agencies reported. The Odessa-Brody project on Caspian oil supplies to the Baltic states has recently become more urgent. The main thing is that confirmation has been received from the supplier – Azerbaijan is ready to supply oil, Likhovy said. Ukraine has addressed Belarus with the proposal to partake in the project. I should say that Belarus’ leadership is not impartial about it. The possibility is under consideration. Political reasoning is unavoidable but the economic expediency is very high, he said.
