Journalists receive courage awards

Female journalists from Belarus, Cameroon and Iran, who have reported on harsh governments and have been punished for their efforts, will receive 2009 Courage in Journalism awards from the International Women's Media Foundation. The foundation also said that its Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Israeli Amira Hass, a reporter of the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz Daily, who for 20 years has reported from inside Palestinian territory on both Palestinian and Israeli government policies.
