'Springeneration' project makes favourable impression

The Centre for European Studies (CES), the official think tank of the European People's Party, launched an interactive, online public opinion survey titled ‘Springeneration’. The aim of the project is to create a platform for a dialogue leading to a a new Arab-Europe partnership.

The 'Springeneration' aims to build on the energy of the ‘Arab Spring’ movement which changed the face of the Northern Africa and the Middle East by asking people to share their ideas on what Europe can do to improve the partnerships between these regions.

In just several days, more than 15,000 individuals logged on the website and posted thousands of proposals for how people in Europe and in the Arab world could address common issues.

CES Director Tomi Huhtanen praised the progress of the Springeneration.eu progress. “This will be a powerful message for both European and Arab leaders about the importance and possibilities of stronger Euro-Arab cooperation,” Huhtanen said.

The survey will remain open during the coming weeks and will be capped with a major event in Brussels, where ten randomly selected participants will be invited to meet with European officials and present the results of the survey.

The survey is available at www.springeneration.eu
