Statues of Venus and Mars, restored under orders of Silvio Berlusconi, during his time as Italian premier, have been restored back to their previous condition.
Mars has lost a penis, magnetically attached and Venus lost two hands. The parts were not in contact.
The two statues were at official residence of the prime minister. when Berlusconi said they were "incomplete."
Giovanna Bandini, who overstore the return to the earlier condition told Il Messaggero "These reconstructions do not comply with our principles of restoration, based on the appearance which history left us," and added that the body part removal had been "an experiment, and it was a complete success."
The de-Berlusconification cost €70,000.
