Metro plans with Pakistan on the way

A high-level Turkish delegation headed by Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag recently paid a visit to Pakistan. The aim of the visit was to discuss with Pakistani officials issues of mutual interest and economic ties between Turkey and Pakistan, Zaman reported.
The delegation met with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif at Model Town. Noting brotherly and friendly relations between Pakistan and Turkey, Sharif said that the sides exchanged ways to foster economic ties between the two countries. . He recalled that Pakistan and Turkey were tied by strong relations of love, affection and brotherhood. At the meeting, he mentioned that Turkish investors are making investment in Punjab which in turn is improving commercial relations. Sharif hailed Turkey for its contribution in rehabilitating flood affectees in Pakistan and its one of the few countries which initially made this effort. Turkey provided complete co-operation for their rehabilitation.
The president reiterated that the government of Turkey and its people has always supported Pakistan even in difficult time. The metro bus project, a joint venture of the Punjab government and Turkey reflects the latest instance of mutual co-operation. In this regard, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that full co-operation of the Turkish government for the metro bus system affirmed strong cooperation between the two countries. Sharif also said that President Turkey Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Rajab Tayyip Erdogan also expressed strong interest in the project and gave it a practical shape.
The Chief Minister thanked the Turkish delegation for participating in the inaugural ceremony of the metro bus project, hoping for further enhancement of ties between Pakistan and Turkey in near future. Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Bekir Bozdag Deputy congratulated Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on the launch of the metro bus system. The Turkish officials thanked Pakistan people and Punjab government for their warm welcome in Lahore. He said that the metro bus project is a huge achievement for Shahbaz Sharif and was impressed with the completion of the project in just 11 months. Turkish minister Bozdag said that amicable ties between Turkey and Pakistan are based on sincerity as both countries have supported each other in time of crisis. At the and of the meeting, he expressed hope that both countries would forge relations of mutual love and affection through projects like the Metro Bus.
