HP Slate 2: The Windows 7 tablet

Hewlett Packard is moving forward with a new tablet, the HP Slate 2, running Windows 7.

Looks-wise, this is pretty much as the original HP Slate with an extra stylus for increased accuracy. Windows 7 runs on a 8.9 inch screen (1024 x 600 pixels) with the help of an Intel Atom Oak Trail Z670 (single core, dual thread, 1.5GHz) and 64GB mSATA hard disk.

The HP Slate 2 comes with BIOS Computrace Pro, WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, 3G Mobile Broadband, front facing VGA webcam for video chat and a 3 megapixel at the back. Embedded is the TPM Embedded Security Chip for enhanced security and encryption features designed specifically for those in the corporate world.

If you like the HP Slate 2 for its multimedia ego you will be very pleased to know this tablet uses SRS Premium Sound and offers HDMI output for big TVs and monitors.

The HP Slate 2 will be available at $699 during November 2011.
